"A rogue skydiving escapade in 1993 has left me with severe scarring and functional deficits. Also, years in a mostly sedentary job have taken their toll. It was time to take some control back. But how to do that when most of my body felt “twisted”, out of balance, and increasingly locked up in pain? Well, for me it means staying as active as I can, while remaining mindful. Tina is a wonderful yoga teacher. Her enthusiasm for it is contagious. She offers different styles and focus for every level. We started with three private yoga therapy sessions. "I am 58 and have been post concussive for 6 years and have experienced a traumatic accident 2 years ago resulting in a shattered humerus and dislocated shoulder. Although I have been told by numerous Doctors and therapists to do yoga for my post concussive symptoms, I could never bring myself to slow down enough to try it. I began yoga with Tina at 18 months ago, with very little ability to move my shoulder or slow down enough to enjoy mindfulness meditation or savasana. I have grown stronger, increased flexibility and improved my balance over the past year. But most importantly I have learned how yoga regulates my brain and puts me in a calm regulated state.
