Somatic Strength

If you’re someone who isn’t a fan of lifting weights but wants to build strength, improve flexibility, and feel more empowered in your body, Somatic Strength is the perfect practice for you. This class blends the benefits of yoga with resistance bands and bodyweight exercises, offering highly effective way to develop functional strength.

In Somatic Strength, we focus on:

  • Resistance Bands to provide gentle, targeted resistance that engages your muscles deeply, helping you build strength and stability without the strain of traditional weightlifting.
  • Bodyweight Movements that use your own body’s resistance to tone and sculpt muscles, improving overall strength, posture, and endurance.
  • Somatic Movement Practices that cultivate body awareness, release tension, and promote joint mobility—helping you move with greater ease and less discomfort.
  • Breath-Driven Movements that keep you grounded and connected to your body, supporting muscle engagement and recovery.

This class will focus on functional movement which means growing our capacity in daily life. We will work on different elemental movement patterns including squat & lunge, hinge, push & pull and rotation. It’s a great way to get stronger, more toned, and more balanced while honoring your body’s natural rhythms and needs.

Whether you're new to fitness or an experienced practitioner, Somatic Strength offers a holistic, mindful approach to strength building that’s gentle on the joints and effective in building long-term, functional strength. Leave feeling strong, centered, and empowered.

You will need to bring a yoga mat and have the ability to get up and down from the floor.
